Winter Sunsets

This has been a snowy week for us in eastern Canada. But this sunset really lit up the ski a couple nights ago. Sorry for the indoor reflections. I don’t open the door much when it is so cold out but had to capture this red ski before it faded. It’s been a rather slow week for us with all the snow. Mostly it blows sideways and only accumulates to about 5-6 inches. It was like a blizzard on Wednesday which sadly put a damper on our first institute class. We had only one student show up after that storm. But we are undaunted as the word is spreading about the class through our missionaries. The French Elders came and sat in on the last half of our class and were so impressed they can’t wait to share it with some of the friends they are teaching. We also had our Greenfield Park Elders over for dinner last night and showed them the PowerPoint slides to our lessons. They were also impressed enough that they want to bring their friends to our next class. We are praying for better weather and continue to send out invitations again via social media, etc.

We are also making great progress with our friend, Mark, who is determined to get himself back on the covenant path after some years of previous bad choices. He also wants to start on Pathways to learn some skills to help him get a business up and going. He is coming to church and studying the Book of Mormon. Every week he seems to feel more confident and stronger. He is a great big guy with a great big heart. We love him.

The snowy and cold weather has kept us from doing our almost daily walks this week. The parking lot for our building does not get cleared of snow very well, so I am glad for my fur lined boots. It’s so cold that the snow tracked into the truck the night before is still there on the floor of the truck the next day. As soon as Elder Glenn takes the truck to a car wash it snows again. I think it is going to be a long cold winter. I am grateful for the technology that allows us to both produce slides for zoom lessons as well as the devices we can use in our in person classes. I didn’t know how much we would be using technology when we began this mission.

All for now,

The Glenns
