We Found Spring!

This is just a quick note to share our week of sunshine. Yes, we finally found Spring in Quebec and especially at the temple with the tulips in bloom. In an effort to find a good place to walk for our exercise, we came across this wonderful Nature Park complete with Japanese flower garden, a pond with canoes to rent, a little barn with live farm animals and lots and lots of walking/biking paths. It is about 10 miles away from us, but well within our ministering area. I think we will make it at least weekly to this lovely park. We haven’t been walking as much lately and are starting to feel a bit out of shape.

This is also a time of saying goodbyes to some very special friends we have worked with over these last several months. The Busaths, who trained us in the kitchen for zone conference luncheons, are leaving in just a couple weeks. They have been fun to work with and will be dearly missed. Sis. Busath made these cute aprons for us too. Starting in June we will be “Feeding the Sheep” several times a month for zone conferences, new missionary arrivals and at leadership conferences. We also have to say goodbye to the Clarks who we worked with for a semester in YSA. They are awesome friends that we will definitely be staying in touch with after the mission. This is the best part about being a senior missionary—all the wonderful people we meet both in the church and those coming in.

We got some great news from our Greenfield Park Ward where we were serving for the first 7 months of our mission. Nacha, who is the woman with the amazing story of survival in the jungle and who was baptized before we left, has shared with us that three of her children were baptized. She is such an amazing person, and we are so happy for her but sad that we could not be there. Another man was baptized at the same time, so Greenfield Park is doing amazingly well. We also heard about another family in that ward that we had been reactivating. They are coming regularly and are getting their children baptized this month also. Its so good to see whole families coming back to church.

Today, Mother’s Day, I got to practice my grandmother skills with this little boy at church. His mother was in a meeting with Branch President, so we took care of little Ryan for a bit. Its hard to be away from family on days like today, but we are finding joy in the people we meet here. The Chomedey Branch is really a friendly branch, and we feel so welcome here. There is much work to do and so we must be about it.

Au revoir,

The Glenns
