My Goodness, how the time Flys! I can’t believe it’s been more than a month since my last blog entry. Much has happened and we have been busy. In the last two weeks we helped two of our members, who are recent converts, go to the temple for their own endowments. Abiola from Nigeria and Heidi of Jewish heritage both felt the spirit of the Lord in the temple. We also have another sister, a true Quebecois, who was baptized last week and an Iranian friend who is set to be baptized on July 12. The sisters are teaching a 14-year-old boy who also wants to be baptized. We love teaching and testifying with the missionaries and witnessing the growth of our members here.
We also had a fun visit with Tim’s sister and her husband as we took them with us to see another part of our mission. We wanted to see Prince Edward Island while it still was still in our mission. We made a quick stop in Quebec city on our way and had to put our foot into Nova Scotia briefly before crossing over the 8-mile-long Confederation Bridge to get to PEI. It was so fun to check out the “Anne of Green Gables” sites and roam along the red sand beaches so popular there. The weather wasn’t great, but we had a good time and really enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and lush farmlands.
Also of note is that this week is our long-awaited mission split happening Wednesday. Our mission will be cut up into three missions. Ottawa, Ontario will go to the new Toronto East mission and the Maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island will go back to the pre-Covid Halifax mission. All of this will not affect us, as we remain in the Montreal mission, but of course all our young missionaries are wondering where they will land and who their mission president will be for the rest of their missions. The church continues to grow in Eastern Canada.
With just three weeks left to our mission, we are busy doing a lot of last visits to members and friends. Elder Glenn is training a recent convert to be the next executive secretary to our branch president, and I am trying to prepare my counselors to be prepared for probable new callings. We have been teaching FHE and Sunday School in turn and are still feeding missionaries at zone conferences. I will miss these wonderful missionaries and all their enthusiasm. They are truly fired up and going forth boldly. Many of them are going home with this week’s transfer, our last transfer. I will also miss working in the Montreal Temple and all of the amazing temple goers and workers that I have come to know so well. Here are a few photos of the past weeks in our mission.
