Temple Baptisms

We are “crossing our fingers and hope to die” coming finally to the end of winter here in Quebec. Our walking path has been melting, then icing up again, but at least we can sometimes get out to the parks again. We just finished another zone conference and are nearing the end of this transfer. Our little district is likely going to change again next week with a couple of our missionaries transferring out. They have been working so hard here, and we have loved teaching with them when we can. Last Saturday we took some of our recent converts to the temple for proxy baptisms. Alphonse got to baptize his daughter by proxy for his deceased daughter. Brian was able to be baptized for his father and  several of his family members also.  It was a special time at the temple for all of them.

This week we also were able to get together with an old friend from the Greenfield Park ward where we used to serve a year ago. Tendai is an amazing woman from South Africa with the most interesting conversion story. She has just passed her immigration test and is now a Canadian citizen. We met up with her at a fun little restaurant where they serve smash burgers and decorate with photos of Elvis all over the walls. It was so much fun to see her again.

Just as I am writing this blog, our fire alarm went off in our building and all the buildings in our complex. Everyone had to evacuate and wait outside in the cold for the fire trucks to arrive (15 minutes) and to determine that it was a false alarm. That’s the second time since we have lived here. Apartment life, I guess. That’s all for tonight. My ears are still ringing.

Au revoir,

 The Glenns
