We are finally in our mission in Canada, at Longueuil of Saint Lambert, just across the river, east from Montreal. We are so glad that we had practiced some French before we came, or we would be completely lost. Everything here is in French. Our Mission president, Pres. Sorenson is super inspiring, and he is almost as new to the area as us. We are also surrounded by some really awesome young missionaries. Just had our first zone conference and they were amazing!
My plan with this blog is to share some “Rays of Light”, borrowing from Elder Dushku’s talk, from our last general conference. We are seeking to find those little miracles up here in this northern part of the continent, thus the title: Rays of Northern Light.
Our first little ray of light was the cross-country trip to get here. We had no car, traffic or weather issues the whole way, just the most pleasant drive. We stopped in Illinois to see relatives, then Harmony, PA, Palmyra, NY and Sharon, VT. There were some very peaceful and inspiring moments as we contemplated while walking in the Sacred Grove and along the Susquehanna River. That is where our gospel restoration started. It was such a great way to begin our mission. We have a renewed appreciation as we consider the sacrifices of the Smith family, and we are humbled by the great love our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ have for us.
I hope this blog can be a repository of some of our spiritual observations as we serve as missionaries here. Future posts to come.
Much Love,
Sis. Glenn

Glad you made the long trek safe and sound. Looks like a good adventure for you and your family. You will have a good two years of things to learn and do. Enjoy.
